Anita Louise Boissenin

With solemn hearts, the family of Anita Louise Boissenin (Jones) announces her peaceful passing on June 6, 2024, at the age of 76, in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on July 9, 1947, Anita's life was a tapestry of faithfulness, compassion, and enduring love. Anita's professional life was spent in the service of others as a surgical nurse at the original Woman's Hospital. A faithful and active member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, Anita lived her life as a testament to her deep and abiding faith. She served the Lord with gladness, her actions defined by grace, and her heart always open to those in need. Anita's life was a living prayer, her actions a choir of kindness that sung to the rhythm of the simplest joys and pleasures—time spent with her cherished granddaughter, the serenity found in nature through fishing, camping, and hiking, and the creative joy of sewing, quilting, and painting. She found guidance in the pages of the Bible, solace in books, the challenge of crossword puzzles, the sweetness of her baked goods, she found serenity in the rhythms of gardening and enjoyed the warmth of family gatherings with the friendly competition over a game of Scrabble or Monopoly. Mourning her departure yet celebrating her legacy are her loving husband of 54 years, Robert Boissenin; her son, RD; her daughter, Mitzi Newman, and son-in-law Kent Courville; her cherished granddaughter, Cassidy Newman; and her grandson, Raine Courville. She also leaves behind a blessed assembly of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Anita is preceded in passing by her parents, William and Elaine Jones, her brother, Bill Jones, and her sister, Sallie Abbott. A simple graveside service will be held to honor Anita's memory on June 17, 2024, at 10 am, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens and Cemetery, 6213 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714 In keeping with her spirit of generosity, the family requests that charitable contributions be made in Anita's name to any of Anita's favorite organizations; Samaritans Purse, the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, or Friends of Baton Rouge Animals, in lieu of floral tributes. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the support and care provided during this time of remembrance and reflection.
