Sherman Everett Morace, 89, of Walker, Louisiana, passed peacefully into eternal glory on March 25, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Sherman was born on July 14, 1936, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to Willie and Ruby Morace. He lived a life marked by devotion—to his faith, his family, and his community—and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ruby Morace, and his daughters, Anita and Melinda. Sherman leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 56 years, Betty Lambert Morace; his daughters, Debra Morace (Burgess) and Sherry Thompson (Anthony); as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life. Sherman was a devoted husband and father. He married the love of his life, Betty, in 1967, and from that day forward, they were rarely seen apart. Where you saw Sherman, you saw Betty. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and unwavering commitment. A hardworking and determined man, Sherman was an avid mechanic with a true passion for his craft. Through dedication and a strong work ethic, he built Morace Trucking, a successful transportation company that he and Betty proudly operated until their retirement. He took great joy in sharing his knowledge, especially with his daughters, creating lasting memories, teaching them how to work on vehicles—even changing tires on his Mack or Peterbilt truck at a young age. Sherman had a heart for people. He never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for conversation. His charisma, honesty, and genuine nature allowed him to build lifelong friendships and strong bonds within his community, which he cherished deeply. In his free time, Sherman enjoyed riding motorcycles, restoring antique cars, and savoring good Louisiana food. Above all, he loved the Lord and lived his life guided by his faith. Two of his favorite Bible verses were John 3:16 and 2 Timothy 4:7, which reflected the foundation of his beliefs and the legacy he leaves behind. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sherman’s visitation on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Christ’s Community Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana, from 11:00 AM until funeral services begin at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Norman Pete Heine Cemetery (formerly known as Hillcrest Memorial). Pallbearers will be Shane Dupree, Anthony "Kip" Dupree, Tony Dupree, Marc Grisham, Anthony Thompson, and Dylan Everett Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Burgess Plaisance and Patrick Devillier. Sherman's life was one of love, strength, and faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
