Joshua Jordan Dunkin

Joshua Jordan Dunkin passed away at his residence in Baton Rouge, LA on October 26, 2023, at the age of 39. Josh was born in Inglewood, California to Bonnie Dunkin on November 26th, 1983. He was raised in Baton Rouge, LA by his adoptive parents Ken and Dot Dunkin. As a child, Josh was very inquisitive and quick to help. He was a happy kid and quick to laugh. He enjoyed playing soccer and was in the band for a short amount of time. He was a typical annoying little brother who wanted to be involved in everything his big brother did. He was also an attentive older brother to his sisters and took his babysitting duties with great respect. He graduated with his high school diploma in 2002. Over the years, Josh had many different jobs in construction, carpentry, and the restaurant industry. He loved to meet people and seemed to make connections easily. Josh was loved by many, many friends over the years and always provided a helping hand and support to anyone who needed it. Family was vital to his life and his interests. Friends and family alike have spoken of Josh’s unwavering loyalty and kindness to those he held dear to his heart. His last conversations were spent stating that he wanted to leave a future for his children and his family. With his passing, he has left a hole in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, integrity, and love for all those around him. Joshua is preceded in death by his dad, Kenneth Dunkin; grandparent, Shirley Swenson; and birthmother, Bonnie Dunkin. Joshua is survived by his daughter, Kaleigh Dunkin of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Tristan Nagim of Baton Rouge, LA; mom, Dorothy Dunkin of Livingston, LA; brother, Daryll Dunkin of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters, Reina Dunkin (Tytus Miles) of Livingston, LA, Amber Dunkin of Kiln, MS, and Briana Stokes of Los Angeles, CA; nephew, Elliot Dunkin of Livingston, LA; niece, Sunny Freeman of Kiln, MS; and numerous extended family.
