Elaine Knoblauch Vance

Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped.” Elaine Marie Knoblauch Vance of Denham Springs, passed away at The Crossing Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA, on July 4, 2023. Elaine was born in New Orleans, LA on August 2, 1936, to parents, Herbert and Constantine Knoblauch. She was one of six children and loved the Lord and doing work for the church. She retired from the Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing after 28 years. She loved angels and collected them, and she loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the rest of her family with all her heart. She enjoyed watching game shows, especially ‘Jeopardy’ and ‘The Price Is Right’, playing solitaire, doing word search puzzles, eating watermelon, painting, listening to her Hymns, and coloring. Her favorite color was red. Elaine also loved being around people and always greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Constantine Knoblauch; brothers, E. J. and Herbie Knoblauch; sister Eleanor Franks; and her daughter, Donna Knoblauch. She is survived by her son, William T. Vance, Jr. and his wife Monica; grandchildren, Cory Vance and his wife Raynie, Tyler Vance and his wife Lauren, and Michael Vance; four great-grandkids, Karleigh Vance, Anthony Vance, Kamden Vance, and Anderson Vance; and two sisters, Brenda Knoblauch and Agnes Blum; as well as other loved ones. Visitation will be held at Riverside Baptist Church 36890 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA 70706, Monday, July 10, 2023, from 10:30 until services begin at 10:45, burial will follow in Gateway Gardens Memorial Park in Livingston. Pallbearers will be Jerry Moore, Mark Smith, Tim McIntosh, Robert Craven, Robbie Craven, and David Bickham. The family would like to thank the staff at Pinnacle Hospice Center in Baton Rouge, especially Nurse Sundi Freemen-Rodgers, The Crossing Hospice Center in Baton Rouge, especially Nurse Katie Nickel for their love and care for Mrs. Elaine. In remembrance of Elaine, the family kindly requests everyone wear something red or pink to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Crossing Hospice of Baton Rouge, St. Jude, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
