Bruce Redrick Easterly

Bruce Redrick Easterly, born June 29, 1953, to parents Dawes and Beverly Easterly, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in Hammond, LA. He lived a full and meaningful life defined by family, friendship, hard work, and a genuine enjoyment of the outdoors. He especially loved hunting and fishing with his friends and family. Duck hunting held a special place in his heart, particularly the time he spent hunting alongside his grandson, Wyatt. One of his greatest sources of pride and happiness was his camp in Natchez. More than simply a place to hunt or get away, the camp became a gathering place for the people he loved. He took tremendous pride in hosting his friends there, sharing meals, telling stories, laughing, and spending countless hours reminiscing about the good times and memories they had made together over the years. His professional life was marked by an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to work hard and build something lasting. He began his career as a real estate agent and went on to become a successful real estate developer. He also served on the board of Hancock Bank and founded Diamond E Trucking Company. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of those who knew and worked with him. He was also a longtime member of Live Oak Church, where his faith and connection to his church community remained an important part of his life. Above all else, he treasured the people around him. He loved spending time with his family and had a remarkable circle of lifelong friends. Whether gathered at the camp, hunting, fishing, or simply sitting together telling old stories, those friendships brought him great happiness throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Easterly; his daughter, Chelsea Mitchell and her husband, Josh; his son, Bruce Easterly and his wife, Reba; his stepsons, Steven Spring and his wife, Myriya, and Doug Spring and his wife, Jolie; his grandchildren, Alex, Dawson, RaeLyn, Wyatt, and Heidi; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dawes and Beverly Easterly; brothers, David Easterly and Paul Easterly, and his best friend, Danny Sibley. Pallbearers will be Josh Mitchell, Wyatt Spring, Toby Easterly, Luke Easterly, Tim Peak, BJ Clark, Dave Clark, and Dawson Easterly. Honorary pallbearers will be Chaney Phillips, Dale Zuelke, George Allen, Tommy Sullivan, Donnie Nicosia, Tiger Hulsey, Lester McLin, Glenn Hinson, Ronnie Champlin, Calvin Blount, Johnny Blount, Maurice Ladnier, John Easterly, Shelby Easterly, Steve Muller, Danny Ballard, Millard Williams, Kurt Freeman, James Ray Clark, Billy Aguillard, Willie Acord, Mike Sibley, and Duke Landry. His family and friends will remember him not simply for what he accomplished, but for the life he enjoyed sharing with others—the hunts, the fishing trips, the gatherings at the camp, the old stories told again and again, and the friendships that lasted a lifetime. The camp he was so proud of will forever hold memories of laughter, friendship, and a life well lived.
