Beverly Howze Williams

Beverly Howze Williams, born January 7, 1945, departed from this earth to be in the loving arms of our Lord, her Father early Tuesday morning, May 7th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was a graduate of Istrouma High School class of 1962 and continued her education at LSU where she received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as thirty hours towards her PhD in education. Beverly retired after serving over 30 years as a teacher and counselor in schools in both Livingston and East Baton Rouge Parish. God gave her the gift of music by blessing her with a beautiful voice which she used to lead song service in church for 27 years. She blessed many people through her music ministry. Beverly also produced and directed numerous programs and plays such as, “Down by The Creek Bank” for both the Church and schools. Beverly felt called to teach and a duty to help students reach their full potential, even when they may not recognize the potential, they themselves possessed “Reach for the Sky” is what she would always say. She always fought for the weak and those in need. Beverly was always appreciative of those who took her phone calls of wisdom and concern, even sometimes at 2 AM. She always believed in the power of prayer and miracles do happen. She always said to “put God first”, then family, and church fellowship, followed by her beloved and trusted friends. She loved life and chose to live life to the fullest, she was adventurous and loved to travel, but required her naps in between. Left to mourn her passing is her loving husband of 60 years, Joe W. Williams; her Children, Noel D. Williams and Miriam Williams Plitt; her Grandchildren, Landon Williams, Mallory Plitt and fiancé Eric Milton, Victoria Williams Moore and husband Kody, George Williams; Great Grandchildren, Garrison Nick Moore, Collins Jean Moore, William “Banks” Moore; her Sister, Patty Howze McLin, and husband Lonnie; her Brother-In-Law, Richard Williams, and wife Judy; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Tommie M. and Merle Vera Sutcliffe Howze; Son, Joel Williams. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation for Mrs. Williams’ visitation at First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs, 1020 S. Range Ave Denham Springs, LA 70726 on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resuming Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM until services begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Williams Family Cemetery 32070 N. Corbin Rd. Following graveside services, the church will host a meal for all to enjoy and fellowship together. A special thanks to her nephew, Jeremy McLin for helping carry her wishes through. Arrangements have been entrusted to McLin Funeral Home.
